A Quiet Place
2023
After the sudden death of my beloved father, I felt the urge to stay in touch with him. He had left me a Rolleiflex, a camera I had never used before, but seen for so many years in our living room.
Learning how to use it was a therapy. I could still feel his presence, his smell.
I took it with me on my trips, where I knew I would feel particularly lonely, spending unwanted nights in random hotels throughout Europe, as an airline pilot.
I simply wanted to catch and document these moments, to remember how it felt.
"I don't really know what beauty is. Except for beauty itself. Beauty, I'm sure it's beautiful. My mom too, she's beautiful, because she's my mom and I feel that she's gentle and blonde."
The Blind, by Sophie Calle
